No one should have a monopoly on refining the definition of rights and wrongs. – The Former Prime Minister of Malaysia – Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad
I not only think but also look and study things carefully. When I travel around, I look at things carefully, make comparisons of what I see. I don’t accept things at face value, you cannot trust what you hear or see. Don’t jump to conclusions without thinking. – The Former Prime Minister of Malaysia – Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad
Be honest with yourself about who you are, and have the courage to be that person. If you want to fuck, then go fuck. If you want to get drunk, get drunk. And there is nothing wrong with sucking a dick. If someone tries to judge you or shame you for doing safe, consensual things that make you happy, I can guarantee you they’re a bad person–tell them to lick the dark part of your ass and cut them out of your life. No one has it all figured out, especially not the people who are acting like they do and judging you because of it. Pretending to be something you aren’t because you’re trying to please a bunch of judgmental hypocrites and shitheads is not the way to be happy; living the life you want to live is. It’s that simple. – Tucker Max author of I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell / Assholes Finish First / Sloppy Seconds / Hilarity Ensues.
I used to think I could get everything I wanted, without having to pay the price for it. You can’t. Life is a trade off. This relationship taught me that the devil doesn’t come dressed in a red cape and pointy horns. He comes as everything you’ve ever wished for. But with a cost – it was all a lie. – Tucker Max author of I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell / Assholes Finish First / Sloppy Seconds / Hilarity Ensues.

Cameron Highlands : English Tea & Scones, Strawberry & Chill

Cameron Highlands situated in the state of Pahang, 200km from Kuala Lumpur. As the name (“highlands”) suggest the mean annual temperature of the resort is about 18 °C During the day, the temperature seldom rises above 25 °C; at night, it can sometimes drop to as low as 9 °C (according to Wiki). Some dubbed Cameron Highlands as “Little England”.
I’d call Cameron Highlands as “Little England” especially if you visit Smoked House. I was there with Piotr (Polish), Hi (German) and Nick (Australian). We visited the beautiful panoramic Boh Tea Plantation at Sungai Palas and few other places like Bee Garden, Strawberry Farm and of course enjoyed a typical English tea time with scones (they really have good scones there!) and local strawberry preserved.
There are quite few tracks for hiking in Cameron Highlands for people who loves hiking in the middle of the woods. You may want to go to Mozzy Forest and witness the largest flower in the world – Rafflesia.
For me, 2 nights in Cameron Highlands is enough as it was pretty a quiet town especially at night. But if you come during weekends, there are huge local night market in Brinchang area (5km away or so from Tanah Rata where most of the backpackers stay).

Melaka, Malaysia : UNESCO Heritage City

Melaka @ Malacca “the historic state” is the third smallest state in Peninsular Malaysia located next to the Strait of Malacca (Selat Melaka). Just 2 hours bus ride from Kuala Lumpur. This historical city has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 7th July 2008.
Malacca, is heavy influence by it then colony back in 16th, 17th century – the Portuguese; also the Chinese. And well-known for its Baba-Nyonya people. However, Malay still make quite a large population in Malacca. The Chinese people in Malacca especially from the Baba-Nyonya background speaks perfect 10/10 Malay language without any Chinese accent.
Lots of place to visit in this tiny city such as A’Famosa, Jonker Walk, St.John’s Fort, Melaka River Cruise, Portuguese Square, Taming Sari Tower, Stadthuys, Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum (if you are museum person), Fredrick Hendrick Bastion Archaeological Excavation Site, Bastion Middleburg, Kampung Hulu’s Mosque, Mini Malaysia & Mini ASEAN Park, and maybe shopping malls?
While in Malacca, I stay at the Roof Top Guesthouse. RM25 per night in a 4-beds dormitory. All single beds, no bunk beds. With a/c and quite big wardrobe cabinet, too. The owners of the guesthouse, a local couple were really friendly, helpful and informative. The wife will bake a pastry (roll bun or cake) at night for the guests’ breakfast the next morning. How awesome is that, eh?
I also hang out with the Couchsurfing Malaysia community in Malacca whereby they have their own “port” in the middle of the Chinatown called Zero Art Gallery.

My Story : I’m Raped

Phuket, Thailand. October 2012. I am not ashame of sharing this. A lesson to learn for every other female travelers out there.
I dont know if the word “rape” is the right word because part of tragedy happened because of my mistake, I believe so.
He is an Australian guy. I met this guy at the bar. He is very good looking, boyish, young, tall, lean guy… just like what I like. He claimed his name as “Chris”. Oh no, his friend said his name is “Chris”. So yeah, his name is Chris. Whatever.
Me, my girl friend Cori, Chris and his friend, Danny got along really well. We socialized, drink till drunk. But not really wasted or hammered or fucked up. When the club about to close, me, Cori and Danny went off to 7-Eleven and then Burger King to get some heavy, very late supper. Then we had our supper at Patong Beach. Just 3 of us. Chris wasn’t there.
Then 3 of us went back to Danny’s room. Couldn’t remember the hotel name. It is something like Baan Suay at Patong Beach area. Just next to Burger King. Well, obviously not a regular cheapskate backpackers they were. Flashpackers. Heh! Well, its 3.30am… I dont feel like riding a bike 8km back to my hostel at Karon Beach area so… why not?!
So, cut story short, Cori and Danny had some sexy time. So I tried to have my own sweet time sleeping. The room was super cold! And the bed was really nice. I just wanna sleep! I was really fuckin’ tired and sleepy and drunk. And the suddenly, Chris got back into the room. Drunk.
At first, it was all good. We had small crazy talk until he invited me to have ‘it’ in the shower. That was when all went wrong. 😦
He wanna have anal and I refused, not because I never had it before but it was just not my thing, and I dont want do it. Then, he became aggressive. He bang my head to the wall in the shower, to the washing basin, turned me around, chocked me until I almost suffocated, and shoved his thing into my backside. Tried to fight him back, I just cant. He was pretty strong plus my position limit my movement. He even forced me to perform deep-throating until I puked, twice.
I did shouted for help from Cori and Danny but they were too busy having their own time and probably couldn’t really hear me or differentiate between pleasure scream or in-pain scream. But I never blame them. Not at all. Never their fault.
After he ‘done’, I wait no more, I was too ‘scared’. So I just dressed up, wet and got myself and Cori off from his place. I told Danny briefly on what happened. I even punched Christ before I left and Danny slapped him but Danny ‘loosen’ his grip after drunk Chris threaten to hurt me even worst. Danny knew Chris the best and what he capable of, I guess? So, I left.
So yeah. I’m raped. If I can use that word, correctly. UNFORGIVEN!
Chris: White guy, from Melbourne Australia, young, around 22-24 years old, with dragon and tiger tattoos each on his knees, with crying Statue of Liberty tattoo on his right shoulder. Do you know him? Shove his ass with anything, please!
Note: I am of many cases that the “victim” (if I could call myself that) didn’t make any police report because I was still shaken. He already flew out from Phuket to Melbourne the very same day (as told by Danny when we met earlier at the bar). And it was too late when I made a report in Malaysia because it was outside case area and nothing the Australian Embassy could do except advice me to contact AFP. My fault.

Phuket, Thailand : Party Beach Town

Karon area where we stayed obviously nothing much happening at night except for restaurants, bars and some shopping. So with that rented bike or tuktuk, we went all the way 8km to Patong Beach area, to Bangla Road just to party, booze, food and ehem, boys? LOL!
Patong Beach is nasty. But not as nasty as Pattaya nor crazy like Koh Pahngan, in my own opinion, but still nasty. Lots of prostitutes of all kinds, go go girls of all kinds too! But I must say that ladyboys in Phuket are way much better looking than in Pattaya. LOL! And there were much more boys and young men in Phuket compare to Patayya whereby too many dirty-horny-old-men looking for love.

Phuket, Thailand : Beach Bums

Me and Cori met again in Phuket after Krabi. She was at Phi Phi Island before.
We stay together at Pineapple Guesthouse @ Karon Beach area. I used to stay there back in 2009 if I am not mistaken. Quality, cleanliness, environment… still the same like before even the price too! I paid 150THB per night. It was considered low season or else the so-called normal price is 180-200THB. It is the price for 12 beds dormitory (fan) with 2 attached shared bathrooms/toilets. Also there are fridge inside the dorm to keep our food/drinks.
We rented a motorbike for 170THB per day (24hours) and moved around from one beach to another – Patong, Karon, Kata, Nai Harn, Rawai…
And I would say Karon Beach is the best beach among all especially when it almost sunset when people no longer jam-packed the area. Back in 2009, Rawai was really really beautiful, clean and the water were so clear. But not anymore. Development took places… people become greedy of money. Sad.
Ahhh… but one thing that managed to make me happy. I got my Swedish meatballs fix again! Twice in Phuket 🙂 One nearby our hostel at Karon. One is somewhere on the way from Nai Harn to Rawai. Awww yeah!

Krabi, Thailand : Quite Town

So I skipped Railey Beach. Been there 3 years ago. I just went to Ao Nang which the beach I’d say just OK. Not too impressive.
Walked down the quiet town of Krabi, it was pretty calming. Sat by the river eating cheese and ham toasts and coke that I bought from 7-Eleven. No one approached me for a river ride or anywhere else. I like it.
I like the night market, down the road from Pak Up Hostel. Various type of food and quite cheap too. I am so spoiled with choices. And since a lot of Muslims in Krabi, just a note to any Muslims travelers, it is very easy to find halal food here.
Made good friends with Cori from Germany and Owen from Australia. Always hang out together at the roof top bar and got ourselves nice cocktails and listen to live show. Nice.
